How to Change Your Verizon Router Password

All devices from Verizon come with a default username and password. The default username and password is handwritten on a card for all FIOS devices. The password contains a combination of alphabets and numbers that is hard to remember. You end up wondering if it those are your lucky numbers and alphabets! Well, worry no more. Just follow the simple steps below and change the default password easily.

  1. You need to enter the IP address of the router in your browser. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1.
  2. You will be asked to enter the username and password. The username is always admin. Enter the password you received on your router sticker.
  3. After you are logged in, go to the ‘Wireless Settings’ and from here navigate to the ‘Security’ menu.
  4. Here, search for ‘Change Password’.
  5. Enter a strong password that is unique to your device and easy to remember. Make sure you too use a combination of alphabets, numbers and special characters.
  6. Save the changes.
