Easy accessibility to free Wi-Fi also makes it easy to connect your laptop and access the Internet. We often visit coffee shops, shopping malls, lounges, even airports, etc. that offer free Wi-Fi service. All you need to do is connect to the public networks and surf free Internet. However, the next time you visit the same place, your Windows 10 computer tends to connect to the public network automatically.

How to Disable Automatic Connection in Windows 10

Press the Windows Key + A, and open the Action center.

Click All Settings and select Network and Internet.

Select Wi-Fi in the left panel and choose Change Adapter Options in the right panel.

When you click on Change Adapter Options, it will open Network Connections.

Find the network connections which are connected to your computer or laptop.

You need to double click on the wireless network connection and open Wi-Fi status.

Go to Wireless Properties and under Connections search for ‘Connect automatically when this network is in range’.

This options is by default enabled. You need to uncheck the box and tap OK.
